Linden Grove Cohorts

The best mentoring occurs when the mentee is part of a dynamic learning community, a place where everyone is being sharpened and transformed by one another.

The best mentoring occurs when the mentee is part of a dynamic learning community, a place where everyone is being sharpened and transformed by one another.

That’s why at Linden Grove we offer Cohorts to pastors, church leaders, and their spouses. The Cohorts, which consist of three to twelve participants, meet regularly as a group with an LGM mentor. A typical session includes:

  • Biblical and practical teaching on a church leadership topic

  • Case studies and breakout discussion

  • Real-life narratives that connect the teaching to actual situations

  • Candid interaction

  • Prayer, encouragement, and support.

Examples of recent Cohort topics include:

  • How do you lead your ministry out of an extended crisis?

  • What are five ways you can upgrade your process of sermon development and delivery?

  • How does a leader work through past experiences in light of the gospel?

Every member of a Cohort also has regular one-on-one sessions with the mentor. At LGM we call these “personal hours,” a strategic time for the mentor to help the mentee with specific issues being faced in life and ministry.  To learn more about those Personal Hours, click here.

Karen Speaks about Women’s Cohorts
  • “Jesus’ church needs well-mentored women. It always has. From the New Testament’s Priscilla, known as Paul’s ‘fellow worker in Christ Jesus,’ older women have taught and trained younger women. And those younger women, as they matured, have taught and trained other younger women, so that they in turn could teach and train even more younger women. The Lord designed this mentorship chain to make for strong churches, strong friendships, strong marriages, strong homes, strong careers, strong communities.

Women make up 50% of the church. Yes, men and women are equally made in the image of God, and they are, therefore, more alike than different. But still, younger women need the wisdom of older women: their experiences, their failures, their successes, their growth in godliness.

No wonder I am committed to mentorship with Linden Grove.”

Both men and women are welcome to participate in LGM Cohorts. If you or someone you know would be interested in learning more, please reach out to us below.
